Arts in Bloom: “Dishes, dishes, dishes”

This digital illustration was created for the Hopkinton Center of the Arts’ annual juried show, Arts in Bloom. With the prompt “for the birds,” humor and sarcasm was encouraged in submitting pieces based on the common idiom. Uriel chose to depict an exaggerated version of a household chore—something everyone has experienced to some degree or another—with a flat, playful style focused on blocky shapes.

In partnership with the Hopkinton Garden Club, ten pieces were chosen to be displayed alongside a custom floral design inspired by their content. “Dishes, dishes, dishes” was one of them.
